Spring starting slowly!

Spring starting slowly!

A slower start to Spring is actually great news for plants. Instead of waking early due to bursts of early warm weather, they are remaining dormant a little longer, avoiding damage from late frosts, but are ready to spring into life when the warmer weather takes hold. As far as possible, we source locally grown plants that have grown in conditions similar to those we've had in Ashtead, so they are ready to plant out. Ask our knowledeable plant area team if you have any questions on when to plant!

There is plenty of colour in the plant area right now - Hellebores, early bulbs, Primula, Pulmonaria and first Erysimum Bowles Mauve, as well as the colourful foliage of Hebes which give great year-round colour and interest. We have some fantastic specimen Rhododendrons from Osberton Grange Nurseries which are covered in bud too.
